Two Dutch teams in action on the third day of the EuroHockey Club Championship Cup women 2014. I don’t know if everybody was still searching for eggs in their garden or had too much to eat from their eastern brunches but I expected more spectators for the matches today. Maybe everybody already thought that both Dutch teams would be in the final on Monday and are coming tomorrow to the EHCCC 2014. Lets hope so.
The fact that both Dutch teams begun the tournament with monster scores made me think of the Olympic winter games in Sochi. The podium of speed skating was mainly filled with Dutch athletes. Critics were saying this was a threat for the sport, but do we have the same problem with women hockey in Europe? Lets hope not. The last 14 years we had a Dutch winner and again this year we will have a Dutch winner because Amsterdam H&BC (NED) and Hockeyclub ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NED) both won their matches.
Amsterdam H&BC played against Uhlenhorster HC (GER) and after the first 35 minutes it seemed that Uhlenhorster HC had the best cards to play the final. Amsterdam H&BC recovered in the second half and won the game rather easy with 3-1.
Real Sociedad de futbal SAD (SPA) was the opponent of Hockeyclub ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the second semi-final. Hockeyclub ‘s-Hertogenbosch only needed one minute to score their first goal and it woke up the women of Real because it took Hockeyclub ‘s-Hertogenbosch 25 minutes to score the next goal. A replay of the match of Friday was expected and again the women of Hockeyclub ‘s-Hertogenbosch put down a monster score: 0-8.
Tomorrow all teams will play with the first match at 9.30 and the final at 17.00. We hope to welcome more spectators tomorrow for the final day of the EuroHockey Club Championship Cup women 2014.
See you tomorrow!
